An Open-Source recycling project
My project is called CrossboneCan. It is an open-source home-made safety and recycling device. It reuses recyclable aluminum cans to make a safe place to store old double-edge safety razor blades.
More and more people are using old-school safety razors because they prefer the shave they get. These razors are completely reusable and have disposable blades.
Recycling or disposing of these sharp steel blades is difficult. You can not just throw them away. The CrossboneCan is a simple device made from a seltzer can (or soda or other beverage can) and marked with the public domain universal symbol of danger, the skull and crossbones.
It also says "danger" in English and Spanish. The CrossboneCan protects children in the house. It protects waste management workers. And it may allow the steel blades to be collected for recycling.
